Backwoods songwriter, record producer, and cartoonist Ivan Klipstein has stepped out from behind the mixing console… to take his no-watt acoustic show on the road with the one-person touring incarnation of The Auroratones. Known from Wisconsin to Montréal to New Orleans to Hawaii for his low-tech, hi-craft production approach, Ivan brings the same attitude to songwriting and performance, tending a singular garden of melodic resourcefulness, whimsical story-songs, and old-school pop chops. The Auroratones began as the « house band » at his home-built analog studio, effectively Ivan playing whatever additional instruments his clients required on a given session. Ivan has spent the past decade and a half creating lovingly crafted homemade pop records.
